For Complex Trauma
Found in Personality, Addictive and Dissociative Disorders
Participants for the workshop need to have full completion of an EMDRIA approved Basic EMDR Training in order to be eligible.
the past few years, many clinicians trained in the EMDR Basic
Training have voiced a need for additional information on complex
trauma cases. During
follow-up consultation done after the basic training, therapists have
expressed how they had found their clients stuck in schemes
that did not readily change with standard processing with EMDR.This has created frustration in
treatment for both client and therapist. Working with personality,
addictive and dissociative disorders presents a special treatment
challenge for even the most experienced therapist.
EMDR standard protocol requires modifications in timing, additional
focus on resource development, and strategies designed as to not
overwhelm the client. The purpose of this training course is to
present an overview of strategies--combined within the eight phases
of EMDR-- to help therapists work with difficult populations to get
improved results. This is a fourteen hour EMDR application training
for therapists that have completed the EMDR Basic training. It has
been developed from research applications and clinical case studies
reported by myself and other EMDR therapist.
